The Dance Health Alliance team is the heart and soul behind every step, stretch, and smile. Our skilled movement practitioners bring a wealth of experience, blending their expertise in dance, therapy, and holistic wellness to create transformative experiences for our participants.

Our Movement Practitioners

Each practitioner is deeply passionate about the power of movement to heal, connect, and uplift. With backgrounds spanning professional dance, physiotherapy, community engagement, and aged care, they craft every class to be inclusive, accessible, and filled with joy.

Together, we are united by a shared belief: movement has the power to transcend barriers, build resilience, and nurture a sense of belonging. This team is not just teaching the programmes—they’re creating spaces where life is celebrated through the art of dance.

Gwen Korebrits

Founder & CEO

Gwen trained at the Bush Davies School and later earned ISTD teaching qualifications. Inspired by her father’s stroke recovery, she explored dance’s therapeutic benefits. She co-founded the Dance Health Alliance in Australia, bringing movement programs to care facilities and hospitals.

Karen Burns

Movement Practitioner & Training Coordinator

Karen is a multidisciplinary performing artist specialising in physical and sensorial theatre. A 2017 Adelaide College of the Arts graduate she is now studying Art Therapy in Sydney, she teaches dance and coordinates movement practitioners for Dance Health Alliance.

Sally Dangar

Movement Practitioner & Trainer

Sally is a professionally trained dancer with a Diploma of Performing Arts from ED5INTERNATIONAL. She has performed on stage and in film, including Ladies in Black. With 10 years of teaching experience across all ages and styles, she brings energy and inclusivity to Dance Health Alliance.

Robyn Forsythe

Movement Practitioner & Trainer

Robyn has been a familiar face on stage and TV for 40 years, with roles in CATS, 42nd Street, and They’re Playing Our Song. Trained in ballet, jazz, and tap, she now works as a dance examiner and passionately teaches older adults, joining Dance Health Alliance with enthusiasm.

Eloise Koch

Movement Practitioner & Project Coordinator

Eloise blends creativity and business, holding a Commerce and Arts degree from UNSW. A passionate French horn player and teacher, she also loves dance, teaching Brazilian Forró in Sydney. She brings her love of movement and music to Dance Health Alliance.

Lara Murray 

Movement Practitioner 

Lara has danced since age three, competing as a child and teen, and now performs for fun. With a Bachelor of Public Health and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, she brings joy to improving function. As a mental health occupational therapist for five years, she fosters an inclusive, safe dance environment for all.

Barbara Rosman

Movement Practitioner

Barbara has loved dance since age five and still takes weekly tap, jazz, and ballet classes. She understands the joy and healing power of music and movement, choosing music that resonates with participants and seeing their delight in return. She believes dance keeps the body active, the mind engaged, and the spirit young.

Beatrice Goodearl

Business Support Manager

Beatrice joined Dance Health Alliance in January 2025, bringing extensive experience in administration, marketing, and bookkeeping. With a business and office management background, Beatrice is excited to contribute to DHA’s growth and support its vital community services.

Dayna Foden Bell 

Movement Practitioner 

Dayna began singing and dancing young, training in RAD ballet and AMEB voice exams.

After a corporate career and motherhood, she returned to the arts and fitness, becoming a Pilates and Barre instructor with in seniors. Passionate about movement and rehabilitation, she brings her expertise to Dance Health Alliance.

Rachel Ward

Movement Practitioner

Rachel is a professional dancer and educator with credits including Cats, The Lion King, and Mao’s Last Dancer. Holding multiple degrees in dance education and health sciences, she is a Senior Lecturer at UNSW. Passionate about dance’s health benefits, she teaches all ages, including seniors through Dance Health Alliance.

Melanie Wilkes

Movement Practitioner

Melanie is a Creative Arts Primary School Teacher and has completed extra training in the therapeutic use of drumming and dance.

She facilitates regular drum circles and creative dance classes for children and adults. Melanie is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of Dance Health Alliance classes for senior adults.

Lee-Anne Newcombe

Movement Practitioner

Lee-Anne has been dancing since the age of 3. She competed extensively in various styles, including tap, ballet, and jazz, as a child and teenager. She has continued to dance recreationally as an adult while following her career as a research scientist. Lee-Anne is very passionate about the benefits of movement and dance. She likes to make her classes fun and entertaining.

Sara Joseph

Movement Practitioner

Sara Joseph has over 20 years of dance training across multiple styles and eight years of teaching experience with ages 3 to 85. She specialises in supporting adult learners through memory strategies, musical connections, and confidence-building in social dance. In 2024, she graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Dance and a distinction in the British Ballet Organisation Level 5 Teaching Diploma.

Skye Cornwall

Movement Practitioner

With 19 years’ experience in movement education, rehabilitation, and performance, Skye supports people of all ages to improve mobility, strength, balance, and wellbeing safely. Trained with Cecchetti Ballet Australia, she integrates Pilates, yoga, dance, and corrective exercise, with strong expertise in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term functional health outcomes.

Leigh Reitz

Queensland Coordinator &
Movement Practitioner

Leigh is a trained ballet teacher with a Diploma of Dance from the University of Cape Town. She has owned dance schools and gyms in Zimbabwe and Australia. Since joining Dance Health Alliance in 2016, she has found her true calling in bringing movement to seniors.

Lindy Bennetts

Movement Practitioner (Rockhampton QLD)

Lindy is a nurse with extensive experience in aged care, community care, and rural hospitals. A former aerobics and fitness instructor, she is passionate about improving mobility, socialization, and well-being through music and dance, bringing joy and movement to seniors and those with physical or mental challenges.

Tammy Lai

Movement Practitioner – Queensland Team

Tammy, a breast cancer survivor, discovered dance over a decade ago and now passionately promotes movement for well-being. A former university lecturer in curriculum design, she integrates her teaching expertise and health experience to lead dance classes for seniors, fostering physical and emotional wellness through music and movement.

Shila Tobarian

Movement Practitioner

Shila has trained in various dance styles since childhood and has been teaching dance to all age groups since 2005. Through the experience gained over the years, she also works as a Performer and Choreographer. Alongside her dance practice, she completed her Pilates instructor training and now works as a Movement Practitioner.

South Australia Team

Cazna Brass

Movement Practitioner Adelaide, South Australia

Cazna, a professionally trained dancer with a Bachelor of Performing Arts from Adelaide College of the Arts (2014), has worked with choreographers across Adelaide and beyond. With a background in Contemporary, Ballet, and Jazz, she has taught all ages in schools and studios. As part of Dance Health Alliance, she loves helping older adults embrace movement, express themselves, and experience dance’s many benefits in a supportive and uplifting environment.

The Hon Sandra Nori

The Hon. Sandra Nori BEc (USYD) G.A.I.C.D brings extensive experience in public service, advocacy, and governance to Dance Health Alliance. A former NSW Minister (1999-2007) with key portfolios, she has served on multiple boards and led initiatives like the Lucy Mentoring Program and primary school dancesport.

Dr Sarah Palmer

Dr. Sarah Palmer has been a dedicated Dance Health Alliance board member since 2015, combining her passion for dance with a distinguished medical career. With a background in Exercise Physiology, a Master’s in Developmental Disability, and a Doctorate in Medicine, she is completing Paediatric Training at Sydney Children’s Hospital. Her expertise in movement and developmental disorders strengthens DHA’s mission.

Angus Larcombe 

Angus Larcombe is a Director at Pacific Equity Partners, specialising in analytics and data-driven insights. With experience across various industries, he helps clients from strategy to implementation. Passionate about DHA’s impact, he aims to leverage his business expertise to expand its reach and bring the benefits of dance to more people.

Jenny Jones

Jenny Jones has over 25 years of experience in aged care as a registered nurse, Deputy Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing. Currently a Non-Executive Director at Thompson Health Care, she brings expertise in clinical governance and organisational management, advocating for quality care and programs for aged care residents.

Miriam Rihani

Miriam is a legal practitioner with experience in corporate legal, operations, and transformation across a range of sectors.  Before law, Miriam completed a degree in Music and postgraduate studies in Musical Theatre.  Miriam is involved with several community theatre associations as a performer, director, producer and honorary solicitor.
